Build a Pantry Around Meals, Not Gadgets
A resilient pantry is ordinary food your household eats, arranged into complete and repeatable meals.
Begin with a list of breakfasts, lunches, and dinners your household already accepts. Add shelf-stable versions of the ingredients and account for cooking fuel, water, dietary needs, and a manual can opener.
Rotate naturally
Place newer purchases behind older ones and use a simple inventory. This reduces waste and reveals gaps before an emergency.
Plan for no cooking
Keep several days of food that can be eaten safely without heat. Never use outdoor grills or fuel-burning camp stoves inside a home or garage.
